A member asked:

My gi doctor did an endoscopy and told me i have gastric body aphthous ulcerations. biopsies were taken to check for h pylori.(still waiting for results). is it possible its cancer and not ulcers?

The pathologist's examination of the biopsy specimen should help to differentiate cancer form other causes of the ulcers. There are other specific tests that can be done to tell if it is H. Pylori. Talk to your PCP and the specialist about it. You should get a thorough history and physical exam to see what signs and symptoms you have that can point your doctor in the right direction.
