I tested 5.00 hsv1 in the 2020 and i retested 2023 it says "hsv 1 igg, type specific results at 48.50 h " does it mean i had it in the past or does it mean i currently have it? why did the number change???

Once an HSV blood test is positive, it remains positive for life; and that person has the HSV infection for life, in your case HSV type 1. Changing numbers with repeat tests is normal and doesn’t mean anything. You’re just like half of all adults in the US. If you’re having no obvious outbreaks of either oral or genital herpes, probably you never will. Don’t lose any sleep over this. Good luck.
