Can metoprolol cause chest tightness? its on the right side of my chest?

I don't think this is a side effect of metoprolol. Chest tightness unrelated to physical exertion with relief by resting,isn't usually heart or lung related. Tension of rib cage muscles is a common cause. It is more common at rest than with exertion. If the symptom persists, have a physician evaluate & advise you.
