I got tested today for strep but failed that test, the doctors think i have mono, didn't get an exact answer. if i do have mono, can i still be around my boyfriend, sleep alongside him and hug him? or will this spread to him?

Most will have mono sometimes in their lifetime & many do in childhood when it is often minor & similar to common viruses. If you are now symptomatic and have mono, the boyfriend has already been exposed enough to get it if not already immune. I wouldn't isolate yourself from him at this point.
