A member asked:

What should i do if my crown breaks while im traveling in a remote location in a developing country? does it mean i should refrain from chewing if the 2 crowns on both sides of my mouth break? both teeth had root canals and are therefore fragile?

The teeth are more fragile than before the Endodontics treatment. That's why they are capped. Chance of crown breaking is very small. If concerned, simply avoid hard or chewy foos. Do not expect Dentistry in a 3rd world country be what you are used to.

If you have porcelain fused to metal crowns the chances of the metal fracturing are zero. If you have all porcelain crowns the chances of fracture are virtually zero.

Crowns don't break if constructed with the best material and the bite is good. Not biting on bones or any hard material is recommended. When traveling buy dent -temp at pharmacy which is a putty material to be placed over any crown or tooth fracture. You can your teeth examined before traveling if so concerned.
