A member asked:

Recent knee pain. painful popping and clicking when walking. back of knee hurts and had a pulling sensation. tenderness on the medial side when pressed. pain relieved by ibuprofen and tylenol temporarily. any ideas on the cause? waiting on mri?

Typically that type of pain on the back of the knee means at strain of the tendons there or even just excess fluid in the knee becuase that is where you feel it. The popping and clicking can mean different things depending on where it comes from. Tenderness on the medial side can mean with MCL (ligament) strain or medial meniscal problems. The MRI will clarify things.
