Streptococcal pneumonia with bacteremia/sepsis. 18 days iv abx then 28 days oral augmentin. does this sound like enough to prevent recurrence? this traumatized me and im so scared of getting sick again?

You've had a serious infection that could have been very dangerous, even life threatening. However, it sounds like you have been treated exactly right. Recurrence is not likely, especially if you are otherwise well without underlying lung disease like emphysema etc. Follow up with your doctor(s) as advised, but don't be over worried. You should be fine. Good luck.
