A member asked:

Good day, i took sertraline for the third time, it didn't work and i was left with a pulling sensation in my head, there's a whirlwind like a snake in my head, how can i stop it? tryptophan can be taken after stopping antidepressants?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You must notify your prescribing physician of these symptoms and follow his/her advice and instructions. One shouldn't discontinue or alter the dose of medications without supervision by physicians who know their history. Tryptophan can interact with sertraline to cause the dangerous serotonin syndrome so I recommend you don't take it at this time. I'm sure your physician will validate this advice
