not recommended: It is not recommended to suddenly stop medications for several reasons. First there are withdrawal symptoms associated with each of the listed meds. Secondly, going on and off of meds sets one up to become refractory to their effectiveness should you need them again. And lastly, the risk of declining in moods can occur with devastating results. Please talk with your dr. Before stopping any med.

Don't stop suddenly: First, i would strongly discourage the decision to stop your medications without the help of your doctor. Depending on how long you've been on sertraline, stopping it suddenly may cause a mild withdrawal syndrome - ie. Anxiety, agitation, insomnia, mood swings, etc. If you're taking valproate as a mood stabilizer and not for seizures, the risk from discontinuing the med is less significant.

Possible seizures : From abruptly stopping sodium valproate. Possibly nausea, dizziness, wierd, electric-like feelings ( all part of the discontinuation syndrome) from abruptly stopping the zoloft ( sertraline). Please taper them both very gradually! you will feel much better!
