Anything that impinges upon a nerve can result in pain. It is difficult to know in your case if this is the cause of your pain without seeing the actual MRI but, in general, if there is a structure impinging the nerve, it could cause pain. The neurologist will be able to look at the MRI and decide if this is the cause of your symptoms after examining you. Good luck!

Your description is somewhat vague, but would not be surprised if you were to be diagnosed as having Trigeminal Neuralgia. Do see your neurological consultant and get this both diagnosed and treated.
