My rbc is at 5.9, hemoglobin is at 18 gm/dl, and hemotacrit is at 54%. i have burning pain, redness, itching through my feet, hands, extremities, and even in my face. heat makes symptoms worse. could these cbc numbers be the cause of my symptoms?

Tough to attribute the cause of your symptoms to your current blood picture. Discuss this with your doctor and decide the next steps. Hematology consultation may be a rational next step.

Some of your symptoms can be caused and have been described in polycythemia, or having higher than normal red blood cells. The question remains as to what is causing your polycythemia, that is likely secondary. Work up under a hematologist’s care is recommended.
