You are correct. Fertilized egg has to be implanted first before the changes in all hormones. I am not sure why you thought you had implantation bleeding after missing period for 5 days because implantation should occur before the supposed first day of your period and pregnancy test should be positive after 5 days of missed period. I doubt if you are pregnant, your period is just late this month.
