62yo male, switched from bisoprolol to diltiazem, hx of acs, bp used to be120/80 on bisoprolol now it's around 140/90. why would this happen ?does it have anything to do with the switch ? thank you?

Yes, it commonly happens when changing a hypertensive agent, especially to medication of a different group. Bisoprolol is a beta blocker and diltiazem is a non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker. Dose of diltiazem should be increased to the effective dose. Good luck.
