Calcified meningiomas may not grow but also could grow slowly. 0.4cm is small but since small meningiomas can cause symptoms,I like to have a neurosurgeon see the patient and recommend whether they should be removed or, if only followup MRIs are recommended, how often they should be scheduled.

It has to do with possible connection with symptoms. Meningiomas are among the most common benign intracranial tumors, they still can slowly grow in size and cause symptoms based on location and that’s why follow up with a neurosurgeon is strongly recommended.
