Strep pneumonia with sepsis, complex pleural effusion. had vats surgery. sickness started 30 days ago, i am 16 days post-op and 8 days since discharge from hospital. still get winded easily. 1,750ml spirometer is this okay at this point in recovery?

More information (size of effusion, details of surgery, how much effusion remains and other details) is crucial to know or advise you. Each case is different. All in all it sounds like you're improving from a serious problem, probably pretty much on schedule, and this doesn't sound alarming. But you'll need to discuss it with your doctor(s). Good luck.
