There are many etiologies for what you are describing so getting it diagnosed is important. ALS is relatively rare but if you are concerned about it, see a neurologist so you can be assessed and, hopefully, put your mind at ease. A neurologist will be able to diagnose ALS or rule it out based on an evaluation. Once it is ruled out, you can have your anxiety addressed if it is still an issue.

You do NOT describe any symptoms consistent with ALS and would suggest you start dealing with your emotional issues. Recommend a visit to a Cognitive-Behavioral therapist ASAP. Biofeedback therapy may also be of value. See an orthopedic hand specialist to deal with your thumb. Am skeptical that you possess any systemic neurological disorder.
