Normal response: Stretching the muscle and especially the tendon of a muscle makes it contract as a normal response. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Yes: Rather than doing sit ups or crunches, you go do isometric exercises which won't impinge on the baby or hurt your back. The american college of ob/gyn has a webpage: http://www.Acog.Org/publications/patient_education/bp119.Cfm which outlines safe exercises in pregnancy, as well as times when exercise should be avoided.

Eyelid soaks/scrubs: One of the most common causes of eyelid twitches is inflammation in the oil glands of the eyelashes. Search "blepharitis". Hot compresses followed by scrubbing the edge of the eyelid with q-tip wet with hot water and a tiny dab of johnson's baby shampoo and control (but not cure) blepharitis.
