Yes: People suffering from anxiety frequently hyperventilate. This causes the level of co2 in the blood to drop which makes the blood a little more basic (alkaline, non-acidic). Resultant tingling of the extremities is very common and is usually treated by breathing into a paper bag for a few minutes.
