A member asked:

Baby with sustained ankle clonus monre than 10 beats when falling asleep (4 months) 36 weeks premie can it be normal considering that when awake sometimes i cannot get any or 5 or less beats is this still a very bad prognosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ankle clonus is considered normal in infants up to a year or more asleep or awake. It is a primitive reflex that will subside when the child's nerves mature enough to support standing and walking.
