HCV is hepatitis C virus. It is transmitted only by blood exposure, and sexually in rare circumstances. Google hepatitis C for easily found information.

HCV stands for hepatitis C virus. It is a virus that can affect the liver and can increase the liver tests and result in a higher chance of cirrhosis of the liver and even liver cancer if we left untreated. There are good oral treatments for hepatitis C now. Everyone should be screening some time in their adult life, even if your liver tests are normal. Good luck.
