Covid infection can definitely lead to lymph swelling especially in the neck.

The lymph nodes are just more reactive because they recognize you have had Covid before and they are reacting quickly. They are actually trying to help out as being part of your immune response to this current infection. For the pain of the lymph nodes you can use acetominophen and ibuprofen as needed.
