Klebsiella oxytoca is a common bacterium in the urinary tract and it MAY cause urinary tract infection when it overgrows. However, ASYMPTOMATIC bacteriuria (out of range: above 100,00) is common in women and we do not treat unless patient has certain underlying condition such as pregnancy, kidney transplant, etc. Klebsiella oxytoca bacteria is easy to treat with common oral antibiotics. Take care.
