I'm looking to get a eye correcting surgery. i went and got some vision tests done and the results were that i'm at 1.5 both eyes. the doctor claimed that we need to use these eye drops which will the true farsightedness number. is this a thing?

If the doctor found you appear to have a dry eye problem from reduced tear formation that can distort your vision. A good quality eye drop (Refresh or Sustain in the US) can move your vision closer to a point the tests are accurate. It is important to gain the most accurate reading of your true vision since that determines the degree of surgical correction. Too much either way=poor result.

he is suggesting a cycloplegic refraction which will remove your ability to focus the eyes and get a truer RX, however at 31 your ability for accommodate (focus) and change your rx is limited.
