A member asked:

Is it possible to get laser eye surgery (lasik or visumax) if you have recently been diagnosed with farsightedness and have never worn glasses before?

It depends on the reason for the farsightedness. If the farsightedness is the result of a cornea issue, then this surgery may be an option. But, if the farsightedness is due to a lens issue, then this surgery is not a good option. You should see an eye doctor who does this procedure to find out if you are a good candidate. Best of luck to you!

yes. Your LASIK surgeon will review all your numbers and determine if it is appropriate and let you know your options as LASIK traditionally fixes distance vision and you will start having near problems now that you are over 40.
