I was diagnosed with a uti and got an antibiotic prescription. i also have bv which the metronidazole gel usp, 1% was prescribed, however it says its for topical use only? how does that cure it if it is not for intravaginal use?

In this case, "topical" means not to take it by mouth. It's intended for use in the vagina.
