Can an esophageal stricture caused by inflammation (gerd or prolonged alcohol) be partially reversed by removing the offending substance?

If stricture is present, reversibility is less likely and the stricture needs to be treated with periodic dilatation. Good luck.

If an actual structure is present, it would be unlikely that it would resolve spontaneously. If there is just information and it is treated with medication’s to reduce acid in the esophagus, then it is possible that the swelling could improve. See your Gastroenterologist if you continue to have trouble swallowing. Good luck.
