A member asked:

Could a hiatal hernia with gerd cause inflammation leading to gastritis? any correlation between the two?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hiatal hernia and GERD are more likely to cause inflammation in the esophagus, the food pipe. Gastritis may be present but is not related to the hernia or GERD.
