Some do, some don’t. It has to do with the type of neuro degenerative disorder and variants as some are rapidly progressive, while others progress slowly or based on acute events.

If neurodegenerative conditions are not successfully stabilized with effective treatment, changes are seen over time on MRIs. An example is Alzheimer's, which displays ongoing brain atrophy, and concurrent PET scans will show metabolic changes.
