What patient thinks : 87 yr old could be very healthy and functional, need to be treated just same as young person, but how ever quality of life in elderly equally important , patient should decide , if he can not , too ill to decide not going for extraordinary measures is not considered a neglect .Physicians will encourage for such decisions , make end part of life as comfortable as possible.

Dubious: Unaware data supporting benefit of sole 5fu (fluorouracil) adjuvant therapy of n3 gastric adenocarcinoma after complete resection ( negative margins). If a "young" 87 yo deemed able to tolerate aggressive treatment-then give standard rx(see nccn guidelines-but note 87 yo were not studied). While your onco well intentioned, consider second opinion and quality of life. Survival possible without chemo.
