Reflux is a common frailty of human systems. The entrance to the stomach is not a valve but a purse string closure. Nicotine/caffeine/dark chocolates all loosen closure. Some foods and laying down after you feed can aggravate the issue. If your system has shown reflux symptoms it can likely be well managed but expect it to some degree no matter what you eat.

Drink water with your meals, smaller amounts per meal often is effective. Avoid sleep or reclining two hours or less before bedtime. Discuss medical therapy with your physician. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Watch for signs of vomiting and shortness of breath. Consider whether other asthma triggers are present. A virtual consult with Healthtap is available.
