My 75-year-old aunt got a colectomy in nov 2022. her post-operation result was ok and no cancer cells were spreading to lymph nodes. she sometimes suffers from constipation though she took some medicines and ate the fruit. how does she overcome it?

High fiber diet including fruits and vegetables, plenty of water, exercise and PTC stool softners/ laxatives will help- sp under supervision of her doc.

The basics of treating constipation remain unchanged in this scenario. Initially try eating a lot of fiber and hydrating well. If the constipation remains a problem, contact her primary care doctor. Good luck.
