Frozen section,,,: What is done during surgery for this or other operations for malignancy is usually a frozen section, not a biopsy. This is taken so the doctors know if there is tumor or if they got all the tumor if there is one. The results are reported at that time but it is preliminary. The official result comes after surgical dissection and examination and takes 2-3 days. Then the dr. Tells the pt.
