A member asked:

My b12 is 219. my neurologist says i need weekly injections. what causes low b12? im being tested for ms and other autoimmune disorders?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dietary deficiency ( lack of meat, fish, dairy products) is a possible cause but probably doesn't pertain to you. Lack of gastric acid is a common cause of inability to absorb Vit B12 & causes pernicious anemia. There are various tests for this including B12 antibodies.
