Got hit on front/partial side of my shin by a softball going roughly 56 mph a month ago. major swelling, dark bruising, extremely painful for the following 2 weeks. still has a dark bruise ring, hard, swollen, hurts to touch. should i be concerned?

You need to have your leg examined to see what the problem is. A month is quite a while to still have swelling and pain so you need to have it evaluated. There is no other way to have it diagnosed but to see a doctor. This is likely a hematoma but this can also get infected and require antibiotics. Treatment can be rendered once a diagnosis is made.
