Most likely: A bruise like that can be tender for several days. If you have difficulty opening you jaw or it feels like your teeth don't match up when you bite down on the back teeth then you should probably get seen by your doctor. Needs X Ray: This is most likely a soft tissue injury however you need to see a doctor if the swelling, bruising and pain are worsening. You could have sustained a small fracture in your mandiblet herefore you may need an X ray to rule it out. In the meantime I would recommend taking some anti inflammatories to reduce the pain and swelling.
