These are a seprate category of organisms which have no cell walls. They have been implicated in many urinary conditions but it is still controversial. They can be treated with antibiotics

These are normal bacteria in the genital tract and rarely cause symptoms or disease. There is rarely any need to test for them and if positive, the results usually can be ignored. "NAA" means nucleic acid amplification -- i.e. these tests detect DNA or RNA of M. hominis and Ureaplasma species.
