A member asked:

How is it possible that the doctor says you have an std but while all the reports are fine like cbc, urinalysis, hiv, hepatitis, vdrl, does it not indicate any virus or infection like non gonococcal in blood test cbc or urinalysis? symptom urine burn?

STDs infect superficial linings of the genitals. With a few exceptions they do not enter the blood, nor would they alter some of the normal tests you mention. There are some tests specific to the type of STD. Discuss this with your treating doc.

STD diagnosis isbased on history, physical exam and urine or swab tests from the area specifically ordered for std. Best to discuss with your doc about basis for her/his diagnosis.
