A member asked:

I think my wisdom tooth might be finally coming in on upper right, clinic said it would be impacted. in the molar in front of it to the side there's an off pink slightly white bump that's sensitive to touch but otherwise fine. could it be an abscess?

As teeth erupt into the mouth the covering of gum tissue thins and becomes tender (an erruption cyst), as it ruptures it can commonly become infected but not cystic ( a collection of puss in a epithelium lined cavity). You should see your dentist or oral surgeon and have the area treated with an extraction or other recommended treatment.

Abscess, eruption cyst, or so many other possibilities. Time to have it evaluated.
