Ultrasound is more dependent on the technologist's skill. An enlarged liver of 18.5 cm can be detected by physical exam. If your liver enzymes are normal, you should request a repeat liver ultrasound if your doctor could not detect hepatomegaly by exam. By the way, what is the reason for repeated liver imaging tests?
