Renal panel is a basic metabolic panel (chem 6 or 7) which should include BUN, creat and basic electrolytes, without (6) or with glucose (7). However, as a kidney specialist I prefer a comprehensive panel because calcium, albumin, A/G are included and the result may help the diagnosis if BUN & creat are high. Formal urinalysis is a basic but very important for assessing renal function. Take care.
