This is not a contagious condition. It does not spread in family units. There are some genetic conditions where a tendency toward or actual seizure prone conditions can be inherited. Some hereditary conditions do cause epileptic seizures as part of the syndrome, but sporadic or post-traumatic causes do NOT result in a proclivity toward offspring to develop epilepsy.
