Antiepileptics: The most rational way to approach the treatment of comorbid conditions is to use medications which treat both. Anti epileptic medications are used as mood stabilizers as well. The most effective are lamotrigine, valproic acid, divalproex sodium, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, gabapentin, pregabalin. In any case, your doctor would try any, alone or in combination, and observe.
