I had a blood test for a routine checkup and my rbc,hgb and mchc were slightly lower than normal. rbc was 4.16 (normal range 4.2-5.4) hgb was 11.9 (normal range 12-15) and mchc was 31.8 (normal range 32-36) i was on my period day 6. is this alarming?

No, this is not unusual. Those values are practically normal, and it is not unusual for a woman who still has menses to run a little low. You may consider eating food that contains iron and even taking an iron supplement. See you are gynecologist if you have excessive bleeding. Good luck.

If I want to document iron deficiency in a case like yours, I order a total iron binding capacity and if it's elevated, you have iron deficiency and, as a menstruating woman,I recommend taking a daily iron supplement for it. My sense is you have mild iron deficiency anemia at this time. Do you have fatigue?
