Prescribed montelukast for allergic rhinitis but three days in and cant sleep at night. find myself waking up at 4 am and cant get back to sleep. thinking of pausing the medication to see if it is the cause. any harm in doing this?

I would consider the sleep issue an unexpected side effect of the drug if there are no other new factors involved and stop the drug. I would not use it again without conferring with your doc. Allergic rhinitis can be treated successfully with many other modalities with little or no such side effects.
