Chronic inflamed appendicitis is a condition where the appendix becomes inflamed and swollen over a long period of time. It is a rare form of appendicitis that can be difficult to diagnose. In most cases, the treatment for chronic inflamed appendicitis is surgery to remove the appendix. However, in some cases, antibiotics may be prescribed to reduce inflammation and infection.

If your doctor felt comfortable sending you home on antibiotics, you are probably OK to do that. However, that requires close supervision and great amount of attention to that area. If your symptoms are worsening, becoming more painful, or you developed fevers, chills, or any new symptoms, you should return to the emergency room immediately. Good luck.
