It really would depend on the type of tumor your husband’s brother had. It would be helpful if your husband can find out the type of cancer his brother had and then review this with the pediatrician. There are some tumors that do have a genetic component and others that do not. Your husband may not be a carrier of the genetic issue but testing can be done, if needed,to determine if he is a carrier
