A good question. Well done for not smoking, see if you can hold off for a week or two. It takes three weeks for the wound to start to close up usually. The nicotine reduces the blood flow to the wound site by 80% and so delays healing. Obviously my recommendation is that you use this as an oportunity to stop smoking altogether. It is so harmful to you!

Smoking interferes w healing, so give it a full 3 weeks. Or you can take chaargeofnyour life, lengthen your life span, reduce risk od heart disease, stroke, cancer, etc. by using that 3 week hiatus to quit altogether.
