pain left side of mouth-always gotten cavities& know that some fillings werent best.wisdom tooth also was starting to come in. michigan under lockdown causecovid19 talked to a dentist on phone&they prescribed amoxicillin for now. no swelling.what2do?

Not: sure what abx will do for no swelling. Any pus, redness. No one will do antibiotic without seeing a patient . At least to be seen on line, virtual, to see what it looks like can be something else.

Pain: It sounds like you have a long-standing set of problems that were left untreated until you passed the breaking point. You must be seen to be treated. Antibiotics will help prevent infection spread until you run out of pills. If the Dentist you called can't help you, find another Dentist. Don't expect a miracle cure. sounds like you will need extensive treatment to make up for the neglect.

Hang in there: Here in NY, dentists can see patients for emergencies only. That can include severe swelling or pain. Not much more you can do. Call that dentist if conditions worsen.
