Sometimes with this medication, you need to add another medication called a beta-blocker to treat the high heart rate. There may also be a reason for the high heart rate-was your thyroid checked with blood tests, for example? So, you should see your doctor again and inquire about a beta blocker. You can see a cardiologist if you haven’t already for further testing and treatment. Good luck to you!
