A member asked:

When an adult swallows a multi-vitamin pill are the vitamins and minerals mainly absorbed by terminal ileum and/or ileocecal valve in the small intestine and/or mainly throughout the small intestine?

It depends on which vitamin or mineral you are talking about. They are all have different mechanisms of absorption. On the whole, however, the entire small intestine is more likely to absorb vitamins and minerals than just the ileocecal valve. Good luck.
